Award from Siemens XP – SASSE becomes supplier of the year.
Because of the yearly supplier evaluation the SASSE Electronic GmbH got the award from Siemens Digital Imaging & X-Ray Products “Supplier of the year”. In the field of quality and logistics 27 suppliers were rated.
For more than 10 years some of our employees say: “Yes of course, I’m going to work by bike!”
“To work by bike” is an initiative from ADFC an AOK where the participants have to go to work by bike on at least 20 days from June till August. Long-distance commuters are allowed to combine a part of their way to work with public transport. The aim of this action is to protect the environment and to do something for your own health at the same time. It does not care if you do this alone or with your colleges in a team. The ones who went to work by bike on at least 20 days till august will further participate in a prize draw.
At SASSE the number of participants is growing from year to year and some of them take part again and again. One of these frequent participants is Mr. Eichhorn who has to travel in total 34km every day – last year he got a small prize for his performance. Also the head of R&D and manager Dr. Schnürer-Patschen supports the initiative and is riding his bike. The SASSE-Team has grown from 4 participants last year to 10 participants in this year. The distances per ride are varying between 3km and 22km and are sometimes in combination with train.
SASSE will buy a new bicycle rack in recognition of its employee’s dedication and hopefully next year will be as many participants as this time.
SASSE wishes all participants a good ride!
As you can read in the article from the 12th of May 2014, the mayor of Schwabach and his delegation were truly impressed by the good process organization inspired by the SASSE PULL principle. Because of that, two weeks after the visit, the mayor invited SASSE to present their system at an executive group meeting of the city. Dirk Rimane (Head of operations and the person responsible for LEAN-Management) has given the presentation and could inspire his audience. The enthusiasm of the attendants was great.
D. Rimane (Head of operations at SASSE), G. Jendryschik (Head of material logistics at SASSE) and their team carried out a study to optimize the material logistics together with four master’s degree students and Prof. Dr. B Gänßbauer from OTH Regensburg. Because of an interdisciplinary project seminar, they analyzed the complete reception area, the warehouse, as well as the shipment area of Sasse. The task was to identify potential for improvement relating to efficiency and work safety and, according to that, to develop possible solutions. The students did a good job and could turn their ideas into reality.
D. Rimane was happy about the great cooperation of his team and the students from OTH Regensburg. Some results of the very successful workshop are for example:
- A clear increase of the workflow in relation to the receipt of goods.
- Because of that a decrease of collection time about 20%.
- An increase of the space productivity about 25%.
- A decrease of distances and travel time about 10%.
